{"id":1609,"date":"2020-11-11T02:07:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T08:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heathertankersley.com\/blog\/?p=1609"},"modified":"2021-03-20T12:12:54","modified_gmt":"2021-03-20T18:12:54","slug":"how-would-your-life-look-different","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/heathertankersley.com\/blog\/how-would-your-life-look-different\/","title":{"rendered":"How Would Your Life Look Different?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This email is a little different than my regular emails about the real estate market, home buying or selling, etc. But given where we are, I thought it was important to share something a little different!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If Fear Wasn&#8217;t Part of the Equation, How Would Your Life Look Different?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This was a quote on <a href=\"https:\/\/magnolia.com\/chips-column-fear-less\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chip Gaines&#8217; blog post<\/a> that I read a few days back and it really resonated with me.<\/p>\n<p>Many years ago, when I was teaching real estate investors around the world, I wrote an article called &#8220;The Fear of Success&#8221;. Just the other day a dear friend of 20 years just reminded me of that article.<\/p>\n<p>And when I read this post, it sort of put me back to the time when I wrote that article. It was a time when I was full of uncertainty. I was brand new to flipping houses and had been asked to teach and train investors across the country on pretty much the gambit of real estate. I was terrified to speak in public, but by overcoming that fear, I was able to change my life and the lives of so many others.<\/p>\n<p>I know that we&#8217;re all facing different challenges in life right now. So many people are facing things that are scary&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Things like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1695 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/heathertankersley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/choices-300x200.png\" alt=\"Tough Choices\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/heathertankersley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/choices-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/heathertankersley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/choices-263x175.png 263w, http:\/\/heathertankersley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/choices.png 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Trying to make the best choice for your children for their education and well-being.<\/li>\n<li>A health issue for you or a loved one.<\/li>\n<li>Trying to start a family (I serve on a board dedicated to helping families navigate infertility so this is near and dear to my heart).<\/li>\n<li>Financial uncertainty.<\/li>\n<li>Starting a new venture (personally or professionally).<\/li>\n<li>Or anything else that&#8217;s sort of got your fear receptors on high alert!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So often we&#8217;re afraid of the unknown&#8230; afraid of failing ourselves or those we love.<\/p>\n<p>And THAT holds us back from achieving dreams we thought were unattainable&#8230; from becoming a better version of ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>How we handle the turbulent times will shape who we become in the next weeks, months, and years ahead! <em>(I think we&#8217;ve all been tested here lately!)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>How we face our fears will help build our risk tolerance and open new doors and new opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>How we learn from our setbacks will set the tone for what the future holds for us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This email is a little different than my regular emails about the real estate market, home buying or selling, etc. But&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1694,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0},"categories":[6],"tags":[20,67,42,66,41],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.5.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>How Would Your Life Look Different?
