Subject lines are really the first point of of engagement with your subscribers (after deliverability and from name recognition, of course).
Here’s a cool (free) resource for evaluating subject lines before sending out your messages. (Just set up a free account)

You just enter your subject line in (or upload) and then the software will tell you open rates, click rates, and delivery rates based on the subject line.
It’ll also give you some data on word count, subject line length and word size.
